He's been pretty solid and a touch better than I expected thus far.....he wasn't very good last time out and two poor starts in a row is just not what he needs IMO

Right now he's 4-4 with a 4.39 era, this is his 6th season and he's 26 years old. Right now he's looking at a 12-12 season with about 200 innings.....not too bad.....he's never won more than 9 games or pitched over 130 innings. He doesn't need a seconds poor start in a row....he needs 6 1/3 and 3 ER and continue on towards his 12-14 wins and 190-210 innings....just what the Reds need from him.

8 players in this lineup under a .330 OB%, hard to imagine. Be nice for the under .300 guys to get up around .320 and the .300-.328 guys up around .340.....along with Joey and his .712 OB%

Yes -- the Reds are actually a pretty weak bunch of hitters (a few obvious one excepted) -- even more glaring when the ballpark they play half of their games in is noted.

I think a large part of it comes from so many hitters being in places in the order that they are not suited to be.

Phillips should not be batting fourth & Cozart hitting first is asking a lot of a rookie.

I would have Hannigan bat 2nd for a trial -- he handles the bat decently -- battles on every pitch -- and has a better OBP than most -- but that still doesn't find a 4 hole hitter or a lead-off guy.

Luddy has done a few good things for us but I still just shake my head at his signing when Heisey was already on the roster. It just felt like dumpster diving to me - if paying someone his salary of 2 million can be called that.

I think pretty much all of us here knew that the 4 hole was an issue before the season started - and I didn't see a real attempt to fix that --- I just wonder what another million could have bought.

Having said all of this -- first place is the best place to be!

Bailey works his way thru inning number 1 -- let's hope for 7 more like it

Hate facing unknown pitchers like this. We battle the Verlanders of the world like crazy, but we tend to make guys like this look all-world.

Looking forward to hearing what Tito has to say about the Redlegs tonight. I'm a big fan of his and an unbiased view from someone who watches as many games as he does will be cool to hear.
