Random Thoughts

Joey Votto is so tough, Chuck Norris would make Joey Votto jokes if Joey Votto would let him.

I'm not a fan of headhunting, just that Derek Lowe should have to stand in against Don Drysdale.

Four pitchers in an inning, mindgames with the other team, we're going to have to call him Dusty LaRussa.

We'll know something's up when he does something crazy like batting the catcher somewhere besides eighth.

It must be tough on attendance if you have a lake or ocean in your market.

The way these guys are playing right now, give flu-like symptoms to all of them.

Joey Votto has no BABIP because it's the fielders who are unlucky.

I like to think of a home run as a walk, a steal, a grounder to second and a sac fly, only all at once and without the outs.

In the All-Star Game, I hope they bring in Aroldis Chapman to relieve R.A. Dickey.

I think it's time for a Professional At-Bat, Seeing A Lot Of Pitches Derby.

No matter whom you vote for, in the two days before the All-Star Game they take who can make it.

Re: Random Thoughts

You hit a home run with this one, or should I say "a walk, a steal, a grounder to second and a sac fly, only all at once and without the outs"?

I like the Chapman for Dickey line. Classic.

Same for me. I would love to see that. I bet you would get some weird swings from those AL hitters.

These two are my favorites and the Chapman thing HAS to happen!

Given that TLR is managing the National League, I assume he'll bring them both in to start an inning with one playing LF, he'll then alternate them on pitches to truly throw off one batter's timing in the 6th inning before replacing them both with a LH specialist.

Technically, you'd want to have Aroldis face the batters who had seen Dickey earlier. So an inning or two AFTER Dickey leaves would be perfect.
Just picking nits.

Good point, but I think it's possible for Dickey to go start, go two innings and face nine batters.
