Jordan Smith notched his ninth save and Louisville stayed hot, 7-5. Also hot is Cody Puckett, who was 3-4.

Stubbs not quite in mid-season form. If he was 0 for 4 with 3 k's he'd be there.

Pensacola finished it off, 6-4.

Partch got a hitless, 2-inning save. He has really been something else in the bullpen.

It's still 2-0 Billings in the fifth. Mugarian has allowed just two hits through his four innings.

Re: Saturday June 23, 2012 Minor League Updates

The AZL Reds get a leadoff HR from Ty Washington, who has been a very nice early surprise. Speaking of surprises, how about these two names in the lineup tonight--Denis Phipps and Donald Lutz.

Jose Williams is pitching for the Goodyears. He's a 21-year-old, 6-5 righthander from the Dominican who pitched 12 good innings last year for the DSL Reds.

Re: Saturday June 23, 2012 Minor League Updates

Ty Washington leads off the game with his 1st HR. I believe he had a triple Thursday. Jose Williams gets the start and had two first inning K. Rhair also had a single, but was stranded. AZL Reds lead 1-0 after one.

A couple of interesting names in the lineup:

Ty Washington 2B
Tanner Rahier 3B
Denis Phipps LF
Donald Lutz 1B

Avain Rachal 2B
Jonathan Reynoso CF
Daniel Paula C
Wilfrel Estevez RF
Ronald Bueno SS

Robert Maddox singles on a fly ball to right fielder Raul Mondesi.
Gabriel Rosa singles on a fly ball to center fielder Michael Reed. Robert Maddox to 2nd.
Robert Ramirez walks. Robert Maddox to 3rd. Gabriel Rosa to 2nd.
Fray Sosa singles on a fly ball to center fielder Michael Reed. Robert Maddox scores. Gabriel Rosa to 3rd. Robert Ramirez to 2nd.
Brandon Dailey singles on a ground ball to pitcher Will West. Gabriel Rosa scores. Robert Ramirez to 3rd. Fray Sosa to 2nd.

I suspect that Robert Maddox will have his way with the Pioneer League. In fact, he's already having it.

Still 1-0 AZL Reds over the AZL Dodgers going to the third inning.

No updates from Bakersfield for some time.

Nice to see Jesse Winker with two hits for Billings (2-4). Fray Sosa's 2-3. Maddox is 2-2 with a 2B, Sanchez 2-3.

The Bakers were busy scoring 4 runs. Hamilton drove in two with a double, then stole third (84). Before him, Bowe drove in two with a single.

Now it's 7-0. Sanchez has a single and 3 RBIs to go with his two doubles.
