Corcino left after eight and Justin Freeman nailed it down, 6-1. Bryson Smith went 3-4 with a HR.

You may not see it often, but he just did it again. Doubled and stole 3rd for #96.

This time he drove in Dominic D'Anna for a 2-0 lead. D'Anna was PRing for Devin Lohman who had walked. No explanation for why Devin left the game after stealing his 20th base. Hope it isn't anything serious.

Re: Friday 6/29/2012 Reds' Minor League Updates

Gettin' downright fugly in Goodyear. The Royals score 5 more in the fifth and lead 12-0. The Walk to Washington the triple for Paula and singles by Fahier and Reynoso have been the only base runners for the Reds through 5 complete.

Ugly pitching line for lefty Richard McCaffrey tonight in 3.0 innings work

AZL Reds
Player IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA
Jonathan Perez 1.2 0 3 3 5 1 0 27.00
Richard McCaffrey 3.0 10 9 9 2 3 0 12.27
Luke Moran 1.1 2 0 0 0 3 0 2.45

It's still ugly, but Tanner Rahier has hit his second professional HR. He's 2-3.

A bit of good news from Goodyear. The Reds are on the board on Tanner Rahier's 2nd HR of the season in the bottom of the 5th. Reds still trail 12-1.

So far tonight for Rahier:

2-3, R HR RBI - now hitting .310 for the season.

Billy also scored on a 1 out GO by Donald Lutz.

The Nutz got one back in the Top of the 4th. 3-1 Blaze.

He actually reverse stole first on the previous pitch. I think he wanted to steal both second and third but didn't get the opportunity. And as a quick aside, only players with special athletic abilities can double and then proceed to steal second.

You know that was allowed pre 1900... wish we could do it at times now when they are going to IW Votto.

Pat Doyle pulled off a pretty nice magic act tonight for Bakersfield. In 3.1 IP, he gave up six hits and three walks . . . and somehow, just one run.

With one out in the bottom of the 5th, Steve Selsky doubled and Juan Duran singled but they couldn't bring them around. Still 3-1 Blaze after 6.

Hard to believe but Billy Hamilton doubled. Again. Stole second (96). Again. And scored. Again.

Re: Friday 6/29/2012 Reds' Minor League Updates

The AZL Reds scratch for 2 more in the bottom of the 8th, but there still just a quarter of the way there. 1-2 Royals going to the 9th.

AZL Reds Bottom of the 8th

Ty Washington strikes out swinging.
Avain Rachal strikes out swinging.
Tanner Rahier walks.
With Ronald Bueno batting, wild pitch by Torey Deshazier, Tanner Rahier to 2nd.
Ronald Bueno doubles (1) on a fly ball to right fielder Alex Hudak. Tanner Rahier scores.
Jonathan Reynoso reaches on throwing error by shortstop Diego Goris. Ronald Bueno scores.
Wilfrel Estevez flies out to left fielder Lance Harper.

Once Hamilton gets his hundred steals, or latest at the major league all star break, he's in Pensacola. Seems clear.

Modesto makes it a 1-run game with a run in the top of the 7th. 3-2 Blaze.

The AZL Royals play add-on in the top of the 9th. The Reds trail 13-3 heading to their last hurrah.
