5 innings, no diving plays and 2 homers sounds good to me. I don't want him remotely getting in a position where he can be hurt. Maybe we can wrap him in bubble wrap before he goes out there.

Often if you play not to get hurt....you get hurt.

Votto does not seem like Superman right now.....

It it me or does the NL roster look alot weaker than the last couple seasons? Looks like alot of our best players are injured and not on the roster, hopefully we can leg out another win from the hated AL

Watching the All-Star news conference and LaRussa just took a question in complete Spanish and when he was done listening he answered for about a minute....completely in Spanish.

I do not like him...but that was pretty impressive.

Re: 2012 All-Star HR Derby/Festivities/Game

It's obvious that TLR is trying to win this game as much as possible. It's in his nature.

Allow me to paraphrase, but after last year he came out and announced "Sup dudes, I am done managing baseball teams for forever, k thx."

And yet he's managing in a game that has World Series implications. Being an All Star is a great honor, but I've always considered the game to be a real-life fantasy matchup. The AL has some serious, serious bats and not giving Dickey the start is sad to see. Outside of say, Giants fans and TLR, the entire baseball community would rather see a knuckleballer face the AL. Instead we get to see him pitch probably one inning of relief. This same community wanted to see Cueto and Phillips play in this game.

There has to be one better alternative in deciding home field advantage. This single game belongs to the fans more than it should for anyone else and Tony LaRussa's dirty little fingers need to stay far away from it.

Chris Berman is personally responsible for me not watching the HR Derby in years.
