Re: Wednesday 7/11/2012 Minor League Updates

Dragons trail 1-0 heading into the ninth. With two out Spencer Dickinson and Joe Terry with back-to-back singles. Jefry Sierra up. YRod came out of the game with a left leg injury per Dragons' radio. Terry steals second without a throw. Two runners in scoring position. Sierra grounds out on a nice play by the second baseman. Dragons fall 1-0. Five hits for Dayton. All singles. Dickinson two hits, Terry, Rodriguez and Buckley with one each.
Nice pitching for Dayton. Quezada goes four, giving up two hits. Unfortunately, one left the yard. Mugarian gives up two hits in three scoreless frames. Contreras pitched a scoreless 8th.

Billy who? A flurry of singles--everybody in the lineup but Lohman and Duran has one already--produces 5 runs for Bakersfield in the second.

Bakersfield rolls to an 8-1 victory. Hits galore, 13 in all. Travis Mattair had three, including his 12th home run. Selsky, Berset, Vasquez and Ewing two apiece. Tanner Robles went five strong, striking out 7 and walking two. Two California League starts for him now and he has yet to surrender a run. Andrew Brackman pitched two perfect innings.

Re: Wednesday 7/11/2012 Minor League Updates

As noted earlier, Billings triumphs 6-3. Guillon five strong. Carlos Ramos made things interesting when he entered the game in the sixth. He faced five batters, retiring none of them. He surrendered three hits, two walks and all three Orem runs. Alejandro Chacin put out that fire, working two perfect innings while striking out three. Sean Lucas pitched two perfect frames as well. Sammy Diaz, Jon Matthews and Wagner Gomez with a pair of safeties each. Gomez launched his first home run.
