Is there any chance Walt is close to pulling the trigger on getting a bat?

Now Frazier walks. This is quite the offensive outburst.

Re: 7.19.12 Diamondbacks @Reds 12:35 start
Yep. It isn't really an indictment of the loss of Votto either. It is the complete lack of a bench. Seriously Scott Rolen (who hasn't been good either) takes a needed day off and you bring in Cairo. The problem is that Frazier provides some level of play at or above replacement, while the other backup infielders are inept. The better lineup today, would have seen Hanigan at first and Frazier at third. Cairo is redundant and done. Valdez is a replacement level glove, who hasn't really hurt the team. Paul is roster fodder. Walt has to do something.

IMO, Ankiel will be here ASAP. He doesn't count as "a bat" though.

Reds still have 1/3 of their ABs remaining in this game. Rally time.

Interesting...this Bryan Shaw guy is listed as a switch hitter, but he has ZERO career ABs.

8 straight balls from Shaw. Hopefully Valdez doesn't swing at the first pitch.

Maybe Valdez shouldn't hit here. It is a potential scoring opportunity in the late innings.
There are guys on the bench. Rolen. Ludwick. |

Nice AB for Valdez. Apologize for doubting him.
