Wainwright was just trying to explain pythag to Chris Carpenter's son. This is where you point to the scoreboard and say, "Scoreboard." Barry Larkin's biggest achievement was surviving the Marge Schott years. Aroldis Chapman has been pitching so much lately he's like a starter who gets a steak dinner and a good night's sleep between innings. Well maybe not the good night's sleep. Would you wager Mariano Rivera if the prize was Randy Johnson but maybe Joba Chamberlain? Just imagine where this team would be if it had a manager who knew what he was doing. Inside Scott Rolen there's a young 5'-10" speedster trying to make the legs go. I'm always getting into trouble trying to talk baseball with guys on the street in wishbone-C caps. |
