Re: Reds vs. Rockies Friday 7/27

great start by Bronson, esp. given his Rocky history.

good to see Simon come in and get the job done, too.

I get all that...didn't follow the terrorists part.

Linder donated $120,000 to a church where I teach about 50 miles outside of Cincy.

lol. The Reds payroll between 85-89 was the same rank as Lindner's 2001-05 era. It was low. Cast does not spend big on the team. His biggest move was getting Chapman, something Lindner would have done himself. Jocketty hasn't done to much either and has been defeated on the Latos and Rolen deals so far.

Wanting to win and being in position to win are 2 different things. Lindner's biggest flaw was thinking Bowden was cool. When Bowden got fired the Reds brought in Bailey,Cueto,Bruce,Phillips and Arroyo in less than 3 years. Joey Votto was the only Bowden leftover.

But keep on thinking Cast is different. Wanting to win, bleh. Marge wanted to win so bad, she destroyed the Reds organization and set it back for a decade.

We will have small payrolls and we still pay homegrown talent.

If Lindner had lived and continued on, I believe we would still be in the same situation today.
Wow... Honest question here... Why are you on a Reds board?

Yes... They sign home grown talent... Just like that super lame team known as the big red machine... In fact that has been a constant of all reds owners.
In fact the reds go beyond home grown talent and are known to target kids that grew up in cincy...

Homegrown talent and cincy kids are two parts of the core identity of this franchise for over a century... You need to find yourself a new team. The Marlins or Angels seem more your style.

It was probably part of our revenue sharing money.
