Frazier vs Harper

Just watched Bryce Harper strike out against the Braves and watched him break a bat across home plate and wondered how he measured up against our own Todd Frazier, so I did some research.

Harper has played 3 more games and has 74 more AB's
Harper has scored more runs(66-42), but Frazier has nearly as many hits
Frazier has more doubles and one less triple
Harper has 12HR's and 37RBI's. Frazier has 17and 54
Harper is hitting .250 and Frazier .290
Harper's OBP/SLG/OPS is .325/.417/.741
Frazier's line is .346/.548/.894

How in the name of all that's baseball can Harper be the leader in the ROTY sweepstakes? Media Darling. If Todd doesn't win this, there is no justice.

Neither should win it. Wade Miley should. Todd can still make a run at it, and technically so can Harper. But right now, if the season ended, Miley should get it. 13-8, 2.96 ERA, 143 innings, 26 walks, 104 strikeouts, 1.13 WHIP.

No way. Tom Browning didn't win it in 1985 with 20 wins so Miley shouldn't now. I know this doesnt mean anything but to a kid (me) in 1985 it really irked me so now it's payback time.

Re: Frazier vs Harper

Not one person out there who matters would give it to Harper over Frazier.... Where are you getting this from?

Re: Frazier vs Harper

One thing to consider re: Frazier v. Miley is that Frazier is doing what he's doing in a lesser run scoring environment while Miley is pitching in a pitcher friendly environment.

Frazier's OPS of .889 is against the league average .720. His OPS+ is 130 is against the league's 94.

Miley has a 2.96 ERA vs. the leagues 3.98 and a 146 ERA+ where the league average is 101.

So while Miley is and still should be the leader, I would submit that maybe the gap between the two is not as big as initially thought.
