With Cairo and Valdez starting I think Sparky Baker is conceding this game. Those two couldn't hit their way out of a wet paper bag...but, you know you got to play 'em so they're HOT bats don't go cold. They are both a defensive and offensive degradation at 1B and 2B.

68 pitches for Cueto through 3...many indicators saying this won't be our game....
Cairo & Valdez starting, Bruce hitting 3rd against a lefty, Phillips not playing, Stubbs still playing. I predict Bruce will have an 0 fer tonight and K at least 3 times. Don't get me wrong..I love the Reds....but batting Bruce 3rd against a lefty, he has proved he chokes under pressure....and using Cairo & Valdez...geesh, not a lineup to score much at all |
