Great article on Frazier and the lineup

http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-tr...riches-problem

The guy is absolutely correct and re-iterating what many posters are saying. Frazier deserves to be starting.

Read this earlier. Good article, thanks for posting. I love Frazier.

I guess my question - and I'd love others input here - is do we really know that Dusty's comments about Todd not being a top-of-the-depth-chart guy at any one position mean he's going to be relegated to just pinch hitting duty? (as the Grantland article at least partially implies)

Saw Joey up here in Dayton yesterday. He didn't look terribly comforatble and is going to need some days off when he gets back. Rolen seems to sit on most get-away days anyway. And after the tear he has been on, I think there's a good chance you see Ludwick get a few days off here and there to keep him fresh, too. Seems like Todd would still be in line for about four starts a week.

Best case scenario when Votto's back, what sort of workload do you think he would get? Basically a role reversal with Rolen? (because they're going to work Rolen in somehow, as well they should if he's going to be a playoff help).

I'm just curious to see how this one actually plays out. As I said, I love Todd. I think he's a big piece of the future. And as we well know by now, Dusty is sometimes a little all over the place with his comments, so I just wonder if maybe all this outrage is a little premature, or blowing that "Nobody’s better at third than Scott (Rolen)" comment out of proportion.

Could totally be wrong, though. Happens all the time.

Re: Great article on Frazier and the lineup

I don't think ANYONE could say Todd doesn't deserve to start. Its just who will sit so he can play. The obvious would be Stubbs or Cozart BUT Frazier isn't going to play those positions.

I think they need to try Bruce in CF. Stubbs has great range out there but Bruce isn't too bad himself. People always make it out that CF is hard to play. Its not, its easier than LF or RF.....there is just more responsibility to cover more ground. However, you don't have to worry about running into the wall down in the corner and the perspective from CF allows the best jumps on balls from any other position on the field.

Anyways, my summary: Experiment with Bruce in CF and Frazier in RF in the coming weeks.

*haha and Dusty will be forced to bat Bruce #1 or #2....because CF always bats there DUDE!
