Re: 9/4/2012 Phils at Reds
I really think you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone that hates Jay Bruce. Almost all the frustration with him comes from thinking he has a world of talent and they hope he lives up to the talent. I'd argue the frustration comes from immense respect for his ability.

Nasty pitch. Schierholtz strikes out swinging. 6 Ks.

Re: 9/4/2012 Phils at Reds
Reds are 6-6 vs. Cards, 2-5 vs. Wash, 4-3 vs. SF, 1-2 vs. Dodgers...worries me a lot if we have to face any of those teams in the post season. Especially given the fact that the first two games will be on the road.

Re: 9/4/2012 Phils at Reds
We played almost entirely even with all of those teams, the record against the Nats is particularly deceptive.

100 pitches for Latos. Not sure if he will be back for the 8th as he is due up 3rd.

Re: 9/4/2012 Phils at Reds
Side note:
If Tampa Bay can hold on against the Yankees (they lead 5-2 in their bottom half of the 6th), the Yankees will be tied with Baltimore for the division and TB will be just a game and a half out of first.

This is the Latos who could pitch in the playoffs.

Re: 9/4/2012 Phils at Reds
I believe Bruce is at least the top two most loved players on the current Reds roster. I also believe that Reds supporters are just waiting for him to be a player he likely won't be.
Even the player he is, is still mighty good and well above league average. I don't think anyone 'hates' Jay Bruce. Not from what I've seen from my many treks to GABP this year.
