Sam Lecure Under the Radar POY
Stats:
51.66 IP, 2.96 ERA, 9.06 K/9, 3.48 BB/9, .52 HR/9. 1.24 WHIP. Sam may be the answer in game 4. Limit Bailey to one time through the order and let Lecure take 'em on the second time through (might mix Cingrani in there to change the look with a lefty). Something like Bailey in the 1st and 2nd, Cingrani in the 3rd and maybe 4th with Lecure getting innings 5, 6 and 7 leaving the 8th and 9th to Marshall, Broxton and Chapman. I was a Sam doubter, but he's had a really good season and doesn't get much love. This thread is to give him his kudos.

Re: Sam Lecure Under the Radar POY
This is going to sound a little bit crazy, but you need to start Bailey 1st or 2nd if you are on the road. He simply isn't the same at home and pitching him on the road gives you a good chance to win, where as pitching him at home lessens your chance quite a bit.

I'm a big fan of LeCure.

Re: Sam Lecure Under the Radar POY
I'd start Bailey and have Leake warming up most of the game in the bullpen in case Bailey gets in trouble early. Use 2 starters to get it done if needed.

Re: Sam Lecure Under the Radar POY
Is Cingrani eligible for the postseason? I thought he came up after September 1st...

Madsen and Masset on the 60 day DL. They can replace those spots with any pitcher in the organization by September 1.

Re: Sam Lecure Under the Radar POY
Another dominant outing today. Have to think Lecure will be pitching some meaningful innings in October if he keeps up this pace.

Re: Sam Lecure Under the Radar POY
Back to Lecure.
Followed him closely in the minors. A bit fragile in terms of health. Misses time. But has the ability to get very hot. Had some great stretches when he got to the upper minor leagues. Right now, he seems to be a very hot relief pitcher. |
