Quit being negative. It's ridiculous to complain about the worst offensive starter in the league for the past 6 weeks. His breath-taking highlights in CF have won us a tremendous amount of games.

He scores we win....plain and simple!!!

Just entirely indefensible. But also entirely consistent with Baker's use of Patterson and T-Virus in CF in previous years (speed > everything else).

The apologists may, however, be singing a different tune if he continues to blow as the starting CF in the playoffs....and the team loses because of it.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that Stubbs is going to put on a post-season offensive display that will make the 1995 NLCS Reggie Sanders look like the quintessential contact hitter.

Stubbs will have a couple good games and some more bad games in the playoffs. Our wins/losses just won't have anything to do with how he does.

I'm not sure if you'd call me a Dusty Baker "apologist" but the man is about to lead the team to its 2nd divisional title in 3 years.

His "good" games are becoming less and less frequent.

Over a 5-game series he might not fit one in.

Granted, but why Stubbs over Heisey given the numbers in the OP?
