Kozma never should have let the ball drop. The ball is still alive so if he did intentionally let the ball drop then he screwed up because the other runners could advance.

If Kozma caught the ball like he should have, we wouldn't be having this problem.

Adopting changes is all well and good. But this is one that HAS to be called in real time on the field.

Why would Kozma intentionally let the ball drop? The infild fly was called after he gave up on it.

If he didn't intentionally drop it then he shouldn't have gave up on it.

Chipper Jones hits a broken bat infield fly on the ground to Descalso at 2B, throw pulls the 1B off, Chipper is safe on maybe th last AB of his career.

Actually yes, the rule says that any ball that could be caught with routine effort by someone positioned in the infield could be called an infield fly. I don't particularly agree with that call, mind you, but it doesn't actually matter where the ball lands so long as the infielder could have caught it with a routine effort.
