Josh Hamilton
Anyone heard any rumors on what he will command in his new contract? Wonder how long he will get with his age, and issue history.
Anyone think there is a chance of him coming back here? Don't we lose Arroyo's salary, and Rolen as well?... Just curious. |

Re: Josh Hamilton
I don't think he comes back here. As much as I hate that they've traded him i'd be very scared to give him a long term deal. Even in his great years with Texas he's been in and out of the lineup and seems to be trending in a bad direction towards the 2nd half of this year. I would avoid signing him, he has a big potential bust risk, and the reds payroll doesn't allow for that.

Re: Josh Hamilton
Something weird going on with him in the 2nd half of this year. He didn't even look like he cared.

Broxton might leave, and I doubt we'll extend Madson. That said, that's not nearly enough left in the bank to sign Hamilton. He'll probably demand a contract that's near Votto's. I personally envision 6 years w/ a club option for 7, with a 180/190 million price tag. Personally, I see the Mets, the Phils being big pursuers. Teams with a lot of loose change will go out for him, regardless of his poor 2nd half. Because at the end of the day, he still gives you good defense, with 40+ Home Runs a year, and 100 RBIs He's a legendary player, and will eventually end up in the hall of fame if he continues to stay on the clean path. |

Re: Josh Hamilton
He will get much less than his stats suggest.I wouldn't take a chance on someone who may not even be clean.

Re: Josh Hamilton
Multi year easily over $100 million.
No. Arroyo is under contract next year, Rolen is not. Next question. |

Re: Josh Hamilton
Our payroll doesn't fit what Hamilton's demands will be. I see Hamilton heading to Atlanta to replace Chipper's bat.

Re: Josh Hamilton
I will guess he gets 14-18 million a year for about 4-5 years.
