Re: What were the DiamondBacks thinking?

They had become desperate for any type of SS prospect have a lot of SP and moved the guy who they think is flawed and isn't going to live up to the hype.

Crazy. I would've thought Bauer straight up in a trade, could/should've landed them Gregorious, plus someone like Corcino, or another B+ prospect at LEAST.

Crazy.

Re: What were the DiamondBacks thinking?

Bauer was extremely ineffective in his 4 starts. I think they sold him while his stock was high. could come back to bite them, but gregorious could also become the next jeter so who knows.

Crazy.
He had several red flags pop up on him and caused him to fall out of favor fast in Arizona. He has tons of potential but people are worried about heath due to his crazy throwing program and that he doesn't want to do things the teams way only his. Teams pick up these things so the weren't likely to get teams to overpay.

They may could have got a better deal if the waited things out but they seen a shot to get a SS and Didi was a guy Peter Gammons said they would take as a part of an Upton deal so its one they liked a lot. The felt like they could deal from strength to get a weakness and in the process rid themselves of a potential headache by not having to deal with the eccentric Bauer.
