Earl Weaver passes
I remember Earl from my childhood. Fiery and fun for a new baseball fan back then.
RIP Earl.

Re: Earl Weaver passes
Somehow, I can't see Earl arguing with a computer making the calls, or it being nearly as entertaining. Earl was a fantastic manager and great for the game. The Earl of Baltimore. RIP

Re: Earl Weaver passes
The article mentions that Weaver died while on an Orioles Fantasy Cruise. I'm wishing the Reds would put together something like that! Wouldn't it be great to take a cruise with Reds players/staff on board the ship!!!

Earl Weaver was one of a kind. He was a big part of Orioles baseball. RIP Earl.
I imagine the O's will wear some kind of patch this year in his honor. |

Re: Earl Weaver passes
My favorite manager ever
This ain't a football game, we do this every day. Earl Weaver Nobody likes to hear it, because it's dull, but the reason you win or lose is darn near always the same - pitching. Earl Weaver You can't sit on a lead and run a few plays into the line and just kill the clock. You've got to throw the ball over the damn plate and the other man has his chance. That's why baseball is the greatest game of them all. Earl Weaver |

Re: Earl Weaver passes
John McEnroe used to argue with the computerized line callers.
