Here's today lineup. This is a 12:30 game. No Reds TV but it will be on the MLB Network. I hope you guys in Cincy aren't blacked out.

Blue Jays left-hander J.A. Happ was responsive and doing well Wednesday after sustaining a head contusion and a laceration to his left ear when he was struck by a line drive during Tuesday night's game against the Rays.

The Blue Jays said they anticipated that Happ would be discharged from Bayfront Medical Center later in the day after further testing.

Good decision to try there. It was deep enough and demanded a perfect throw. They got it unfortunately.

There was nothing dumb about trying to score on that play. In any event, Mess would have hit into an inning ending DP. Need to force the defence there.

Wrong. It wasn't shallow, it was plenty deep enough. And it's also a LF'er who's very inexperienced out there. Instead of pointing fingers at the Reds...try giving some props to the guy who stepped up and made an OUTSTANDING play.

I don't know if I'd chanced running Phillips there. I'd put the pressure on Minor for a K or short fly. Minor wasn't hitting many spots.

I'm torn on it either way - it's what, Gattis' 3rd game ever in LF, and running puts the pressure on the D.

I agree with you. You have to try Phillips to score on that play. It took a good throw to get him and that's exactly what it was.

Not a bad decision. New outfielder. IMO anytime it takes an absolutely fantastic throw to get a guy out, you made the right choice in sending him. Putting pressure on a defense is a GOOD thing.

Results show that it wasn't a 100% certainty to score. It doesn't show that the runner should not have attempted to score.

It took a great throw from a brand new left fielder that's struggled defensively all series.

I think it was okay chance to take. Didn't work out.

The throw beat him there by a step or so, and Phillps came close to sliding around the tag. The fact that the throw beat him by that much just shows you how impressive that throw was IMO.

I just watched a replay of it and I thought it was close too. Phillips made a nice slide and almost got around the tag. If that throw was to the catchers left about two more inches Phillips would have made it.

Why did the Braves reliever choose to serve up back to back HR's to lose last night. Seems like a dumb decision.

Guy probably has some confidence after last nights game. If it was Miller on deck I run every time bc I don't trust him to put the ball in play.

These are 2 very similar clubs. I didn't think so before the season, but I do know. I like our starters more and our overall defense more, but they're close.

You might want to watch a replay Raisor. It was closer than you think. Yes the throw beat him, but it was by a step...maybe a step and a half. Add in a very nice slide and it was close.

Hindsight is 20/20. I like the decision to send Phillips. Gattis has been a butcher in left all series. No way would anyone have anticipated a throw like that.

Guy probably has some confidence after last nights game. If it was Miller on deck I run every time bc I don't trust him to put the ball in play.

Miller also had a long drive last night.

But I think basing decisions on one previous AB vs. a lifetime of information will likely result in lesser results.

As I said before, I don't disagree with your plan...not at all. But the problem is that MLB won't do it that way. They'll expand the current review system to include other things....all reviewed the same way. And delays galore. I'd be SHOCKED if they went straight to an additional ump.
