Arroyo 1

If Reds can get to Peralta early this could be another ugly one quick. Brewers bullpen in shambles after last 2 days I would think.

In his only start last season vs Reds he only went 5.1 innings but didnt allow a run.

Bonus points for how Choo's name is presented on the lineup card.

But those points have been taken away for mistaking the reds for the "Cards" (See caption)

Accuracy is the difference. I actually think Mes has the faster release and the better arm.

Whatever anyone has to say about Mes, Hanigan is a tremendous thrower.

I see Lutz is playing today. Still don't get the rotation in LF. Paul doesn't field well but he does have an OBP over .380.

Anyone that just watched that last play would agree. Anyone watching him run the bases would wonder what in the world you're talking about.

Because XP has an OBP over .380 and Robinson has an OBP over .440. obviously those won't stick up, but they're all swinging hot bats right now. Dusty deserves a lot of credit for getting them in the right positions to succeed since Heisey went down.

Cozart doesn't fan much but his LD rate is just ridiculously low this year. It was about double the current rate last season. They need to work on this with him.

You're right, the order isn't changing until the roster does (i.e., when Ludwick comes back). Doesn't make it any less frustrating to me though.

I'm not sure what Cozart's problem at the dish is, but he was struggling to reach first last year too. His on-base woes in 2013 aren't surprising.

For the arm-chair managers and gm's....there's ALWAYS more info than we know....

“He wasn’t feeling very well,” Reds manager Dusty Baker said. “He said all game it was a struggle for him, but this guy has big guts. He’ll give you what he has. He told us to keep an eye on him because he was about out of gas even though he didn’t have many pitches.”

Arroyo still snapped a three-game losing streak for his first victory since April 15.

“I didn’t have a whole lot of stuff,” Arroyo said. “I was grinding from inning one. Eighty-six, 87 [mph] was the top end for me. The wind was blowing at my back down on the field and up top it was blowing out. It’s a terrible mix for me because you can’t make the ball move down on the field. But if they hit it, it’s going to take off.”

“I was laboring every inning. It probably didn’t look like that. After the 6th, I told them those 65 pitches felt like 90 and to just be aware of that to have somebody ready to go. I knew I was getting away with some pitches I normally wouldn’t and that game could get out of hand quicker than you thought.”

Dusty did the right thing in pulling him and I love how honest Bronson is about his condition. VERY few players are like that.
