I'm blown away by the fact that he's 40! Been in the bigs for 19 years now. Some guys slip under the radar, but I'm stunned that he's been around that long.

I watched that tornado live. It was the widest one I've ever seen. They claimed it was 2.5 miles wide. Unreal.

Vada and Robby were my favorites. Vada was a speedster who could hit double figures in home runs and play a good center. And a solid citizen.

Oh, it was the HBP. He's going to feel stupid when he sees the replay and sees BP definitely got hit.

He was my favorite also as a kid, nobody on the current Reds is like him, maybe a left handed shorter version of Eric Davis.

Personally, I preferred the old facial hair policy. I remember when Dave Parker showed up to his press conference clean shaven. I was very impressed as a 14-year-old fan!

Vada was ultra fast he had over 100 more triples than Davis, of course a lot of that was because of the big parks Vada played in.

I'm happy with this game because Cueto dusted off the cobwebs and got into somewhat of a groove. I'd feel a lot better of Broxton and Chapman finished it off with easy innings.

My comment wasn't really about tonight. Just a general comment that it seems Dusty for some reason all of a sudden thinks Marshall is only capable of pitching to right handers.

Could be the difference in eras, too. Pinson had more triples because more games in bigger parks like Forbes Field and Connie Mack Stadium. Davis played in an era in which he had more opportunities to steal bases. On the negative side, Davis also played a lot of games on Astroturf, which no doubt had an effect on his inability to remain healthy.

Both were very fast, though.

Yes, I agree. It's amazing how few steals those fast guys had who played in the late 50's and 60's. Curt Flood had less than 100 steals in 12+ years.

Same here - cool delivery to watch. had a kid through here (A ball) who threw almost underhand. Tough to hit.

Used to hate seeing Ken Tekulve coming in when he played for the Pirates - the Reds just never could seem to get to him with his side arm style.

Mine, too. He seems to have a following around here.

Pinson had nearly 2800 hits. Ozzie Smith who is in the HOF had LESS than 2000. Pee Wee Reese had around 2200 hits. There are quite a few other HOF members who don't compare stats wise to Pinson. Definitely overlooked.

I'm happy with this game because Cueto dusted off the cobwebs and got into somewhat of a groove. I'd feel a lot better of Broxton and Chapman finished it off with easy innings.

Heard some good things about it - got an anniversary coming up next week, wife and I might head out to see it. I enjoyed the reboot, thought they did a pretty good job with that.
