Interestingly...Harvey's small sample size splits show he's tougher against lefties than righties.

RHB are OPSing .481.
LBH are OPSing .358.

His strikeout to bb ratio is better against lefties too.

BAbip for Harvey at home...a paltry .167.

Wonder if something is wrong with Hannigan. Keep Murphy off the bases and Wright in the ball park and we'll be fine. If Latos is 1/2 as good as leake was last night, I'll be satisfied.

It looked like Frazier was starting to find his groove/ rhythm last night at the plate so why would you give him another day off? I could see it if he was continuing to flounder. And, it's not like Hannahan is tearing the cover off the ball.

I wondered the same thing. Baker said Hannahan was going to play first but he didn't want to take Votto out because he's tearing it up at the plate. I'd like to see Frazier build on his good night last night. Oh well.

Hey, at least Choo is back in.

Terrible pitch by Latos on 1-2 to Murphy. Hanging curveball, followed by a fastball right down the middle to Ankiel. Hate to say it, but with Harvey pitching, one or two runs could be enough.

Favorite quote: "We all knew each other when we were broke," Bailey said, laughing. "Now we know each other when we're making money. We all went peanut butter and jelly sandwiches together. So it's like, 'Don't give me that s**t. I knew you back when.'"

Ludwick doesn't make that catch.

Ludwick would have been standing right where the ball was hit and never had to move. One thing I learned last year- Ludwick plays hitters as well as anyone I've ever seen.

Matt Harvey presumably learned something there. If you're going to pitch around top hitters, just pitch around them.

That 3-0 pitch was like batting practice for Joey. In a million years you don't throw that pitch to Votto.

First base was open, you go 3-0, don't groove it. You walk him, you walk him, life will go on.

UCBrownsfan

This run was avoidable. Latos just made it too easy for pitcher to bunt on an 0-2 pitch.

It's not a workload thing. Harvey is a strong young man. It's an effectiveness thing. Close, tough ballgame, pros like Votto, Phillips up there, you go to the pen.

If Dusty is wise, he'll lift Latos unless Reds take a big lead. Then it matters less.
