The Reds did not score, but worked Garza for 26 pitches.

Garza is coming back from series arm issues and missed the second half of last year. This is only his 2nd start this year, and was limited to 80 pitches last start.

We should be seeing the Cubs bullpen around the 5-6 innings today hopefully.

Pretty solid bunt there from Cueto too. Good idea. And fairly close at 1st.

I wish more pitchers would try to bunt for hits - if they're not going to take regular batting practice, at least make the attempt to actually get on base.

_Sir_Charles_
05-26-2013, 02:05 PM
Cueto should trademark that "twirl and block" move.

He was acting like he tweeked something on that play. Like he rolled his ankle or something. Nothing serious, but he was working his leg/foot around quite a bit afterwards.

I know its only 133 ABs, but Barney is hitting .205.
His career OBP is .304. At what point do you decide a "gold glove" second basemen with no defensive range, who can't get on base is a liability and you should look to the farm?

For the record, my answer would be mid 2014 if he keeps on the downward trend.

See I thought it was the exact opposite. I thought David was laughing because he knew Cueto was sending him a message of "get in the damned box already".

No offense, but that's just silly. The ball slipped out of Cueto's hand. That's why DeJesus was laughing.

And hitters rarely laugh about getting thrown at intentionally.

No offense taken, but I also think it's silly to consider that "throwing AT" someone intentionally. He threw it a few feet over his head. It reminded me of the Randy Johnson/John Kruk allstar game thing.

I think he intentionally threw it well over his head. Just showing frustration at DeJesus. Not trying to hurt him.
