This is on Fox, right? Which means there's no way I'll be seeing it out here.

I just hope that if Robinson gets on base, Baker won't have Leake bunt him over.

That would be a waste of ability on both ends.

Again, I don't disagree. You're right. Hannahan hasn't hit. Izturis has never hit.

But, again, why pick on those guys? They are bench warmers. If they were better hitters, they'd be regulars.

Mesoraco is a below .700 OPS hitter. He just hit into a double play that might have cost a run. He's a big shot prospect, first draft choice, highly touted. He's not showing much so far. I think he warrants some mention too.

It's hard to get in a groove when you play every 3rd or 4th day. The bench players have the toughest job, never knowing if or when they'll play.

I give Mesoraco some leeway.....I wish Dusty would play him more. I starting to doubt that Hanigan's bat is going to improve much.

See, here's where I think guys like Mesoraco get special treatment around here as beloved Reds prospects.

Mesoraco hsa 344 PAs as a Red. .649 OPS. He's had far more opportunity as a Red than guys like Izturis or Hannahan. Yet Devin gets "leeway".

Izturis and Hannahan are veteran players who have had success in the major leagues. They aren't good hitters, but Hannahan hasn't been terrible over 8 years. Izturis is strictly a defender but good enough to play for many years. And as a starter.

Mesoraco is a kid, I understand, but at some point he has to show something more.

Folks blame Dusty. Well what happened to earning playing time via performance?

At some point, maybe not quite yet, but soon -- Mesoraco's performance will be attributable to Mesoraco.

I understand your point. I'm not favoring Mes because he was a top pick, but because he has hit the ball better than Hanigan this year. Yes, they both have not done well, but Hanny is worse right now. We need some offense from the bottom of the order, and right now, I think Mes is better.

I agree -- the Reds have to have a catcher. They have to have an eighth hitter.
Hanny's offense seems in decline, Mes is more promising.

My comment is just that it's kind of a tradition here to go after some of the bench players. When a regular isn't cutting it, people seem to shy away sometimes.
