Looks like we may be getting into that Pirate bullpen early.

And with the "control" the Pirates starters have shown so far this series, I don't want to see how many Reds get HBP when we start digging into the very bottom of their bullpen depth.

Hurdle knew this was going to happen, and that it would likely happen to the #3 hitter (two outs in the first). I think that is why he moved Andrew McCutchen to the #4 spot in the order today. This is the first time this season that he has hit fourth.

Walker with a soft line out to short. 4-1 Reds after 3.Credit that one to the advanced scouting team...it was hit up the middle. Off the bat I thought it was a sure single, but Cozie was playing him up the middle and picked it off on the first base side of second.

BTW, IMO Marte would have definitely been out on the steal of second with a better throw...it was very close as it was, but a throw a foot or two to the right would have nailed him.

This is what frustrates me the most about our offense. So inconsistent.
We score and get lots of runners early, and then the offense disappears.
Leaves the door open for the opposition to come back.
We just can't manage to land the knockout punch.
