Interesting. How does the rest of his D grade out? I root for Parra b/c he has always been such an underdog on the ARI roster. If not for the trade of Upton and the injury to Eaton, he might not even have regular AB this year.

EDIT: Obviously, I don't root for him when he's playing the Reds though! :)

I really think that if Ryan would have taken 6 pitches he would have drawn the walk and let Cueto make the last out. I'd tell him to take until he either walks or K's.

Just feels like everything is a struggle right now. I wouldn't have much confidence against anyone. Diamondbacks have struggled against good teams too.

His OPS vs. righties is 1.050, .524 vs. lefties. He's like, twice as good against righties.

i wish the hitting Philosophy of the Reds was, they pitch away, you go the other way. Protect the plate.. Not take hittable pitches and swing at balls in the dirt.. etc .. like trying to hit every pitch out of the park philosophy they seem to have now . PLUs hit and run, stealling bases etc

The Reds are 29th in all of MLB in stolen base percentage (22 out of 40). The last thing they need to do is run more.

I don't understand his approach in any AB. I don't think he has one. That's his biggest issue. He's not as bad as he's playing this season.

It's also a testament to cruddy teams with cruddy pitchers....we kill them. I believe the approaches are greatly flawed and outside of Votto.....who has came up under this tenure and done consistently well?

Relievers can pitch back to back games...even if they went 2 innings the previous game. He did not throw a lot of pitches the previous game and can probably give you one. This is what relievers do, they pitch in multiple games. Yet every time Dusty puts someone in for 2 let alone 3 straight games there is head shaking. NOT by you every time...but by at least a majority most of the time.

I'm just trying to make sense of when Relievers only went one inning every other day...and that they cannot be extended sometimes. He is going to be PH for... so he was only going to have to go 1 inning. Partch is now along with parra....going to have to close it out.

If you want to see bullpen overuse... look at the Pirates or Yankees right now. Look what Pete did with the Reds in 1986-87.
