Sean Casey says Votto has so many errors because he tries to make plays nobody else can. You all have seen more games than I have, but dropping a foul pop doesn't seem to match this claim...and I saw at least a few more boneheaded errors that were not due to an amazing attempt.

Homer is inconsistent at times, but man when he's on, the last two years he's looked especially good.

I've spent some time lately looking at the stats for Reds starters. Bailey has the highest ERA of all of them. His won lost record isn't very good.

Yet, I would argue that overall this year he has pitched as well or better than any other Reds starter.

One very interesting stat is "pitch value." Bailey's fastball is valued this year at 14.4. This is by far the highest value of any pitch of any hurler on the Reds. This is only one of many interesting, mostly favorable stats for him.

It's not 'X' avier Paul Mr. Thom. One of my pet peeves. At least Brantley pronounces Xavier correctly. Thom sounds like a baffoon.

Same here. But he sounds like a buffoon. Unless you are saying that he sounds like a cross between a baboon and a buffoon. :)

Bailey wouldn't be the first Red to have 2 in a row in terms of all time, a number less than one hitters

Bumpus Jones tossed one in 1892 for the Nati, that name could rival Homer Bailey
