Do you think if someone broke into Cozart's home and wrote "267 OBP" in permanent marker on Cozart's forehead Dusty would still bat him 2nd in the lineup?

I wouldn't consider doing that or anything... ;)

No big deal....it's not like he's last out of 161 regulars in MLB (he's ahead of 2)

And it's .264, not .267

Did you hear that sound? It was the sound of Corky Miller popping open a celebratory beer as he grabbed his suitcase and started packing his assortment of mustache combs.

Even those who don't favor Heisey in the lineup, like me, knew he was likely to get hot. No player on earth could stay with numbers so low. It was inevitable.

I guess Paul is still hurt, he'd normally play against the RHP.

I guess Derrick Robinson against righties hasn't impressed. You'd think he might be the guy to replace Paul. Switch hitter.

I guess Heisey is officially "hot" since he is playing against Lohse, righty on righty.

Kc61
07-08-2013, 08:22 PM
Actually, that at bat speaks volumes about Frazier.

His ground ball rate is way, way up this year.

You could see that by reaching out on the outside pitch and trying to pull it, he beat it into the ground for an easy out.

I'd have to explore more, but that explains much about Todd's season IMO.

Compared to the rest of the NL, the Reds have given up the fewest 1st inning runs this year with 28.

What's the deal with the Brewers opening and closing (and opening) the roof? I thought there was a MLB rule that once the roof was closed, it couldn't be reopened for the remainder of the game. In many "convertible" ballparks, the ball flies differently when the roof is open compared to when it's closed.

I don't know why they wouldn't want to be in Milwaukee. They are regular visitors there, but Milwaukee has certainly had its share of visitors. The French missionaries and explorers were coming there as early as the late 1600s to trade with the Native Americans.

What caught my eye was the Bruce-Phillips-Frazier relay that nailed the guy at third. I'm not necessarily a rah-rah guy (although I do like a little of that) and I thought I'd see, at least, a little fist pump from Bruce as he ran back to the dugout....but nothin', no emotion at all.
