I suppose Heisey has good numbers against Westbrook.

ProfessorTofty
08-03-2013, 07:00 PM
Last time he was up, Cingrani got nothing to show for seven innings of shutout ball. Here's hoping he's in similar form tonight and the Reds's offense shows up.

cingrani allowed sometimes lots of baserunners/hits and got away with it... I hope he has it tonight => lets win a ballgame

not that it really matters, but why would i be getting red sox / d-backs on mlb network, when i'm closer to both cincy and st. louis, both of which are central rivals to the cubs?

guess i'll watch on 661-1

I'm confident that Westbrook's performance will help wake the Red's offense. So I think the score will stay close.... what worries me is that the way Granny is pitching Dusty will be digging into the Bull Pen early... the Bull pen that couldn't stop the hemorrhaging last night.

How slow is phillips getting? I thought he was gonna beat that and it wasn't even a close play. Kind of amazes me he's so slow with how great his D is. I know the two aren't directly corilated, but it seems kind of like they should be.

I had a pretty long running thread on the sun deck about the cards being the luckiest team in baseball, which they are. I also didn't really start posting much until well after I joined, so there goes that theory. I am a frustrated reds fan that thought the season had turned after game one in LA. Right after that a downward spiral started. Still recovering from that. This team needs a hot stretch in the worst way.

What's happened to Votto's fire? It's like he hasn't been the same since he got all that national flack for dropping a series of F-bombs after striking out one game. Now, it's like he doesn't care when he screws up. Either that or is trying real hard to suppress it. Not good either way.

Yep, we just gift-wrapped them a run. Here you go Cardinals, free run for you. We better hope that doesn't come back to haunt us. And only baseball would have some antiquated rule that there can't be an error on the back end of what would be a double play. What kind of asinine rule is that?

The guy who says the season is spinning out of control in the first inning really doesn't have the gravitas to return in the 6th and say this.

Season does appear to be spinning out of control. The small bit of hope that it doesn't could have very well been erased with that half inning.

Votto has fallen into a bad habit of planting his foot on the bag and merely stretching for the ball instead of shifting to where the throw is coming from.
