Bring home a W, Chef.
And, clearly, Ryan Braun has not heard the quote from Sparky on your signature!
On paper, the Reds have two tough series remaining outside of the division. Arizona and LA. They are both at home.
Arizona is a hot team and highly motivated to get truly back into the wild card race.
Reds haven't done well against good teams.
I think this series will be telling. Overall, though, I'd like to see them win 5 of the 7 games on this homestand v DBacks and Brewers. Or better, obviously.

I'd really like to pass the Cardinals.
We need to play well in these next 7 games. Every game is big now :)

Both teams are 7-3 in their last 10. I expect a really good series. It would be nice to win three or even four. That would just about knock the Dbacks out of it. A split would be OK too but they would still be just close enough to worry about.

But not before Brantley and Thom bring up the RBI issue, and JB shares a story of how he was just talking to Jim Leyland in the elevator the other day and Leyland was saying how Cabrera will expand his strike zone when an RBI is available. Then talk follows about Votto's goal of not making an out.
It's unbelievable how these announcers can spend so much time watching something, spending their entire lives in it, and not really getting it.
And this follows kudos given out earlier to the fine year BP is having- which I don't mind, them praising BP. They just do not understand who BP is driving in.

Arroyo is the best pitcher I've ever seen pitching out of jams, other than the very elite pitchers. He really thrives in those situations. Always has.
And Leake has been much better in those spots this year, undoubtedly learning from Bronson.

It really wasn't a bad pitch. He blooped it over the shortstop's head, it happens. Can't fault him for making a quality pitch, it's not like he fed him a fastball right down the pipe.

It was a bloop, it wasn't hit hard. But in that spot I want the batter to swing at something he can't hit. The pitch was a bit too good IMO.

If it is in the zone it is certainly capable of being a hit. Therefore you believe it must be a ball or you believe there are unhittable strikes. That's fine, but which is it?

Actually parra gives Baker a lot of credit. He says when he came off the DL. Baker sat down with him and told him there were lots of pitchers who were more successful than him who did not have the stuff he had. Parra said that made a big impression on him.

Arroyo knows more in his little finger about pitching in jams than I will ever know. So I trust that he either didn't execute the pitch well or Prado just got lucky. Just hate to see a big hit on an 0-2 pitch.
But Arroyo got out of the jam, there's still a good chance for the Reds to win. Hopefully the pen is on tonight.
