Kelly has become the Cards' 'stopper" as he has been winning his starts right after a Westbrook loss. Now he's following Lyons. So he's in uncharted waters tonite. :)

I wouldn't be surprised to see Votto run wild tonight after that brain fart. Luddy has been not good vs. the Cards since joining the Reds. He's going to have to change that if the Reds are going to stay in this race.

Jim Day chatting up putting yesterday behind them, though it rather sounds to me like he's taking it hard. I agree with the idea, though-- yesterday was one game, and our offense actually put in a fairly good showing. If they can do that again today and we see our pitching A-game-- and the pitching this year has definitely been generally strong, then we definitely have a good shot. Come on, Reds!

If they don't win with Latos on the mound tonight they may not win again in St Louis until 2028. Absolutely have to get this one tonight.

I get a kick out of you, but after a miserable experience for all of us last night, 'Temperatures are high there. I expect several Cardinals homers. None for the Reds. Eh, one. In the ninth, down by 12' is about a troll-y as it gets. Can't you just pump the brakes a little?

You'll hear it's fluky.

It's talent, patience, merciless, merciless, AL-like patience.

I hate that the Reds have an NL hitting philosophy with an AL team consistently in front of us.

It's the end of August and they aren't cooling off. It's some luck, sure. But a whole lot of approach.

Here come the troll accusations. Does Redszone ban actual Cards fans for trolling, or just me?

That's what I thought.

It's fine. We all deal with grief differently, no? Like I said, I feel total confidence in saying the Reds will succeed in outscoring the Cardinals in a nine inning affair some time in 2014. Hope springs eternal.

Mesoraco was intent on drawing the walk. He got ahead 3-0.

Next pitch, he heads to first despite a clear strike.
