No surprise that Molina is catching today, the Cards aren't about to make that same mistake twice. Wainwright has a 2.38 ERA with Molina, 7.43 with non-Molinas.

Another thing to think about, the Reds in their two recent trades, have given up premium prospect talent, but also gotten premium big league talent in return. While the Pads maybe be suspicious that we knew about Grandal, you have to think this bodes well for future trades in that other teams look at the Reds as a fair trade partner. Trades can be so scary because you really have no idea what the other team knows about their player that you don't.

Yeah, you never know...tough one. The only thing I'd say is assuming the run wouldn't have scored is to assume Jay wouldn't have gotten a base hit....which, for the most part, Jay has been solid against the Reds. Having said that...the sac worked and the Cards chipped away.

Wainwright is having trouble with his curve, same problem he had last time.

Wainwright without his curve is Logan Ondrusek.

He certainly doesn't look like a Cy Young candidate.

Votto this year is just more effective hitting the ball to left field. That home run reminded me of the typical Votto dinger of years past. Off the bat on TV it looks like a normal fly ball, but just carries due to his excellent opposite field power.

Votto has been better than Carpenter by essentially every offensive statistical measure. He doesn't need to watch Carpenter do anything.

He needs to watch him swing as he might hit the ball to him.
