Leake has a career 5.64 against the Dodgers in 3 starts (4 appearances total).

Capuano's career numbers against the Reds don't mean much considering we were facing him regularly as a Brewer far back as 2005, but of course in his last start against us he went 6.2 innings and allowed just 3 hits with 0 walks and 4 K's. I think we owe Mr. Capuano a receipt.

http://cincinnati.com/blogs/reds/2013/09/06/brandon-phillips-says-hes-ok-back-in-lineup-after-quad-contusion/

“He hit my back leg and when he hit my leg, it pulled my leg all the way back and hyperextended it, that’s what they said,” Phillips said on Friday. “He didn’t really hit me good or anything like that, he just hit my back leg. I still feel it, it’s like knot in my quad right now. As long as I keep moving, it’ll loosen up.”

Mathematically, you want the Cards to take the series with the Bucs, maybe dropping just one of the three.

Realistically, can't and won't ever root for the Cards. Some things are just plain wrong if not wholly justifiable.

That hit was the first AB for a farmhand who should have been called up a couple of months ago (Zach Walters). High potential kid finally with the big-league team going nowhere.

Leake! Wow! If he, Bailey, Latos and Tony can keep doing what they've been doing...with Cueto out of the pen...and Joey awakened from his slumber...we could really be going places.

For now, I just want Parra to do what he can do. This isn't yet in the bag. But will be big if we can hold it. Very big. Not just a W but hugely confident building that the team can truly beat anyone.

The other contender? After trailing by a bunch of runs all night, the Red Sox Napoli just slammed one to tie the Yanks at 8 in the 7th. If the Red Sox can steal this one, it'll be back-breaking for NY.
