I would enjoy us getting a win tonight. I know we were facing a good pitcher last night but that game felt like a big letdown after our amazing week.

Hitters are now 1-79 this year against Tony Cingrani when he gets ahead 0-2 in the count. That's an .012 BA, the lowest in MLB since 1988.

scott91575

Well, if there is one plus it's that the Reds have every Thursday off the rest of the year. 4 man rotation with maybe one spot start in there is very possible.

RedlegJake
09-10-2013, 07:56 PM
We do possess "the Redleg Way" but we switched all our mojo to the pitching staff which used to lie in our hitters exclusively - so Reynolds should be just fine - but we need a witch doctor to voodoo up our bats

The Reds starting pitching isn't going to dominate every night. The offense has to pick them up time to time. Tonight needs to be one of those times.

I recall the Reds knocking the Cubs out of the playoffs years ago with a late season series win in Chicago. I guess this is their payback, though the Reds still have the Wild Card to fall back on.

In Reynolds defense -- I think he's been sitting for ten days. He was supposed to backup Cingrani five days ago, and wasn't needed.

Now suddenly he's thrust into action. Some guys don't handle that too well.

I wouldn't be against giving Reynolds another shot next time around.

I agree but he had to be told before the game that he was the long man.

If I'm Dusty I give this game six innings. If the Reds aren't back in it, I pull Votto, Phillips, Choo and Bruce and let them rest for the remainder of the evening.

If that happens then it will be worth to stick around and see Billy Hamilton.

After Sunday night, I thought the Reds were poised to win the division with the next nine games being against three of the worst teams in baseball. Instead, the Reds are facing two consecutive losses to begin this stretch.

Assuming a loss tonight, it's probably going to require at least a 11-5 finish to win the division. Probably 12-4.

Complete pouted during the play and added hot dog and then the batter hustles and beats it out. I rarely agree with pulling a player and maybe best handled in the dugout.....but I'd had pulled him. Then to end that same inning he made sure to do it the right way and quickly played on the ball with an immediate crisp toss and ended the inning.
