When Redszone started, and for a long, long time after that, the Reds sucked and were playing for nothing. Lately, they have been good and playing for things that actually matter. When things matter, people get more emotional. When people get emotional, you get some wildly emotional posts.

Same reds we have seen all year....sometimes people (myself included) are such big fans that we can't see the real team from all the good things they do against inferior talent.....this is the same team we have seen since April. I'm not shocked at all. This is what our talent has gotten us. Barely good enough to make the playoffs but never gonna be good enough to stay in the playoffs more than a week. It's who we are and it's who we have been for 3-4 years and it's the team that was built. Our holes are still holes no matter which way you try and spin it.

Well, seeing Cueto laughing in the dugout while Marshall was struggling was not particularly inspirational.

Then seeing Phillips screw up an easy double play to allow another run to score was just too much.

I made excuses for the Reds in 2010 and 2012, but this year.. Sorry Reds, you choked. Other than Todd Frazier, the same tired play we saw when we ended the season 0-5.

I thought the team won 90 games and that this was a playoff game. Maybe I've been watching another season.

A team that was expected to compete for a world series..that committed all kinds of money to key components...finished 3rd in its division and is about to lose the wild card play in game.

The "I thought I was watching playoff baseball!" argument is far too simplistic and loses context of where this franchise is...or, at least, is supposed to be. And you know that.

In 2010 and 2012 the team was a clearcut division champ. They should have done better in the playoffs, particularly last year.
