I just saw online that Todd Christensen has died of liver disease at age 57. He was a terrific tight end for the Raiders teams in the 1980s, playing on two Super Bowl champions. I always liked him. I can recall him crying during the video on the Raiders 1983 championship team as he talked about what the championship meant to him. R.I.P.

I always hated the Raiders. But there were a few of their players that I had trouble rooting against. Todd Christensen was one of them. RIP

He was always very well spoken later as a broadcaster, especially during American Gladiators.

He and Charlie Jones -- IMO, an underrated play-by-play man -- were a great pair on NBC NFL broadcasts back in the day. And didn't miss a beat as an NCAA football analyst.

I agree he and Jones made a great team. Very good player too back in the day.
Way too young to pass away. RIP

I thought he was a very good TE but a very irritating color commentator. He came across as a college professor who sits in front of a computer or a book all day. I can still hear his words, "that call was somewhat ticky-tack".
