Very excited. I'll miss Matt Smith but I'm excited to see what is in store.

Give me some time, I just got to meet David Tennant, and am still missing Christopher Eccleston.

Well, for now their giving you some. From what I gather, the 8th season doesn't start until Fall 2014.

Glad to see Smith gone, could never take him seriously.

I enjoyed his offbeat take. Definitely different but in the end anyone that can turn my wife into a Doctor Who fan is fine by me. Plus he came along with two of the best companions in the show's history.

Nice farewell episode for Smith, but I wish they would have given Capaldi more than a few lines. It's hard to gauge what kind of Doctor he will be based on what they showed.

To this point they've done a good job at casting the Doctor in the new series. I've enjoyed Eccleston, Tennant, and Smith each in their own way. Companions haven't been as consistently good. Amy Pond and Rory Williams have to be my favorites.

I really will miss Matt Smith. His tenure with the show has produced some of my favorite moments in the history of the show. It stinks that he's bailing now, just as the chemistry with Clara and his Doctor is really starting to click.

I'm not looking forward to Capaldi. He just doesn't seem Doctor-y to me. At all.

Love the show & both Tennant and Smith. And Jenna Louise Coleman is my favorite companion since Elizabeth Sladen years ago.

I do think the plots have 1) gotten too frantic & 2) gone way over the top. The Doctor seems more like a demigod than a scientist/adventurer. Comic books have often had the same problem. Same thing with Xena & Buffy. Once the hero gets too tough there is nothing left for him to fight. Once the Doctor fought one Sontaran or a few Daleks, now its a battalion. I'd prefer the new head writer (Moffatt is leaving) dial it back a bit.
