The uniforms have a Christmas feel to them, with the red belts and piping on the pants.

That was a quicker review, that got overturned in the Reds favor, with Phillips getting the steal there.

WHAT?!? It's not required by the school? (I haven't had to worry or wonder about such things as I have 4 girls)

No --- boggled me too --- 4 boys here

they do require baseline testing for concussions though

pretty odd

*There was a nine-minute delay in the second inning after third base umpire Brad Myers was drilled by a line drive in the groin from the bat of Brandon Phillips. Read about that by clicking here. Myers was taken to a local hospital to get checked out.

“Man, I’ll tell you, I don’t think I’d even watch a game without wearing a cup,” Indians manager Terry Francona said. “That’s dangerous, man. He got smoked.”

What do you mean? Any blow to the head requires a concussion test? Or something else?

no - they try to do testing before any contact so they have a baseline to use as a comparison in the event there is a suspected concussion.

of course the fact that our local hospital has offered the testing at no charge is certainly a factor (I'm on that hospital's board of trustees for whatever that is worth)

Gotcha. Well that's a good idea. I still can't wrap my head around the "no cup" issue though. Mind boggling.

Yeah - I reconfirmed that with the D.I.L. yesterday -- no cups
