With a few days of dead time between now and Opening Day, I was wondering if people on this board who play fantasy baseball want to share who is on their fantasy baseball team this year. I'm in a first year league on Yahoo! and got saddled with a bad draft position in the middle of the pack.
Here's my team:
C - Carlos Santana
1B - Joey Votto
2B - Jose Altuve
3B - David Wright
SS - Ian Desmond
IF - Brandon Belt
LF - Alex Gordon
CF - Desmond Jennings
RF - Jay Bruce
OF - Michael Brantley
Util - Chase Headley
Bench - M. Teixeria, Colby Rasmus, and Derek Jeter
Pitching:
SP - Shelby Miller
SP - Jake Peavy
RP - Casey Janssen
RP - John Axford
RP - Trevor Rosenthal
P - Jon Lester
P - Dan Haren
P - Drew Storen
P - Tyson Ross
(Currently DL): Cole Hamels, Mike Minor
Billy Hamilton, arguably the most controversial fantasy prospect of the year, didn't go until the tenth round of my draft. I was going to select him, but a guy two teams ahead of me did.
I typically go more for pitchers than I did in this draft, so my pitching worries me more than my batting, but I decided to go after players in hard to acquire value positions like catcher, 3B, and SS instead of drafting pitchers early. My league also counts holds as a statistic.
