Solid. I might give IV an edge over II. It's a bit cheesy now, but for the time, it was fitting. Maybe Putin's trying to bring back that feeling.

Rocky I. . . .

Okay. That may have been the only one I actually watched.

I am not a good American.

Rocky
Rocky Balboa

End of list.

Those were the only two that were actually movies. The others were revenue generators for the studios.

Seriously, I don't know anyone who liked Rocky IV at the time. It was cheezy even by 80s standards. A freaking robot? It has seemed to have ridden the 80s nostalgia wave of a few years ago and now it's apparently considered cool. It's not.

1 2 3 Balboa 4 .................................................. ........................ 5

5 was such a trainwreck, It was as if someone watched the Karate Kid sequels and then thought we should make a Rocky movie like that.

Lessons learned from Rocky I to Rocky III:
Lesson 1 - the A and Rs are in it to the hips. . .

My favorite line is from II....at the press conference announcing the fight a reporter asks Rocky if he has anything derogatory to say about the champ and he says "derogatory...... Yeah he's great."

Rocky 1
Rocky Three
Rocky Balboa
Rocky Two
Four and Five are garbage.

I actually thought Rocky Balboa was a pleasant surprise. Not overly believable but a good show.

Rocky Three was great to watch as a 13 year old kid. Nothing like standing in the matinee with a bunch of other adolescents throwing punches at Mr. T.

For some reason I always got a kick out of in Rocky 1 after the fight when Adrian snuck into the ring, the first thing he says to her after all he has just been thru is "where's your hat?". That just cracks me up for some reason.

Agreed. It's a font for unintentional comedy.

I love the if I can can and you can change then everybody change speech in IV.

My favorite part in 1 is when Micky comes to Rocky's apartment to try to convince him to let him be his manager after he took his locker away at the gym.

My sister picked me up from school early and took me to see Rocky III, she told them I had a doctors appt. I was in fifth grade, honestly it's my favorite memory that involves her.

I remember when they put Rocky II on network tv for the first time. I was a kid, and I had no idea about the ending. So.... I had seen Rocky 1 maybe a few month before, and I was actually pissed Rocky lost. So... when the final fight comes on... and they both go down.... I remember feeling exactly like Mickey and Pauly.. begging for Rocky to get up.... and then he did... I jumped up and down and hugged my dad, my brother, and my mom and called my grandparents at 11pm to tell them that Rocky won. (Thank God they lived in Central time zone!)

I remember seeing the original Rocky in the theater. I remember the TV ads for the movie comparing Stallone to Pacino, DeNiro and Brando. Stallone never lived up to that hype but the movie was so good it really didn't matter. I remember during the fight the whole theater was into it and afterwards there was some confusion on if Rocky or Apollo won the fight but that really wasn't the point.

Rocky was believable ......and fresh, not some studio trying to make money....they were just trying to get the movie done...
like the first Star Wars or even Rambo. After that..... Rocky and Rambo was a stupid cartoon which mirrored the 80's and how the USA was back.

Watching Raging Bull 4 years later...... you just feel Rocky is a joke after the 1st one, but it fits for what it is and what people wanted.
