Pirates lineup tonight:

Marte, LF
Walker, 2B
McCutchen, CF
Alvarez, 3B
Martin, C
Davis, 1B
Snider, RF
Mercer, SS
Morton, P

I don't care for tonight's lineup in the sense that Mesoraco is sandwiched between two guys hitting less than .170 (not including Simon who follows Santiago), but we'll just have to roll with it. It'll be interesting to see if Santiago can contribute.

As far as the lineup goes, it doesn't matter. The REDS are hitting better than any team in the NL for the last nine games. They're in a groove. Any lineup that Price would throw out there right now is going to succeed tonight.

I feel like we've never hit Morton very well and we have a ton of mediocre RH bats. I'm OK with trying to run out some more left handed bats. Not by any means the worst lineup I've ever seen.

Not always.

The biggest worry with Chapman is the mental aspect of facing live batters again. Guys who get hit tend to get "gun shy" about getting back on the mound. Him actually requesting the screen bothers me a bit. Hopefully it's just him wanting to be cautious.

You know I was thinking they should hold Billy at 1st so they don't take the bat out of Votto's hands only to have Phillips then hit into an inning ending Phillips play. But I see now the havoc Billy creates when he runs on the defense. Good call.
