Need to avoid a sweep today. If so, if we win the Cubs series we can get above .500 for the month and before locking up with the Brewers.

Good to see Frazier back in the lineup. Here's to hoping we hit much better than last night!

Hey, Reds hitters. There's an old, outdated stat called a win. Unfortunately, pitchers make All Star teams when they have a lot of wins.

Your teams' starting pitchers are underrated because they don't get wins. They don't get them because they don't get enough support.

Which is a long way of saying get Cueto a win, he's pitching Cy Young ball, support him a little.

I'm starting to be confused. Is the primary objective of the replay system intended to avoid on field arguments between managers and umpires or to get close ones called accurately? Starting to think its to have some unnamed person, not anywhere in the ballpark make the deciding call so the manager has no one to argue with. I can't believe those on field umpires all agree with the decision after watching the replay we just saw.

We really could've used a guy like Cueto on the Reds teams of the late 1990s that posted 8-10 runs a game. He would've been undefeated!

You and I remember the late 90s quite differently. The 97 and 98 teams were not fun.

I blame that on me not going to enough games. A game I went to against Chicago in '98 (or maybe '97) saw Deion Sanders go 5-for-5!

I see this a lot in bowling. People have juuuuuuuuuuuust enough success doing it the way they're doing it that they really resist advice that might make their game better in the long run.

Of course, we have no idea if that's the case with Cozart. But he's clearly not getting better at the moment. Reds really need to explore the trade market for a SS come June.

OK, I'm going to toss this name out there: Ian Desmond. Desmond has a career .704 OPS, a .333 OBP this year, and started 34 games at SS last year for the Nationals, but plays mostly 2b. Nationals have top prospect Rendon already in the majors playing out of position at 3b while Zimmerman is on the DL. Short term, Desmond plays SS. Long term he'd be a solution if the Reds wanted to trade Phillips, or if Phillips continues his decline.

Reds could send Cozart and Soto, who could fill in at 3b until Zimmerman is back. Not sure who else, but it would probably require a non-top pitching prosepct (Corcino? Moscot? Holmberg?).

I'd want a low-level MI or 3b prospect in return.
