Thom immediately says "him and Votto...these are the guys the Reds are paying big money to drive in runs."

Brantley says negative comment about Phillips and Thom immediately changes subject to Votto driving in runs.

2-run triple off the wall. (Or double depending on how they scored it.) Looked like it was a HR for sure off the bat. Bruce barely scored.

There is a 12mph wind tonight, but it's blowing right to left, so not really blowing directly out. No idea why the ball is carrying the way it is. Maybe an after effect of the nasty weather Cincy has had the last two nights?

Love the baserunning aggressiveness this season. Per JK, Bruce is just 2 SB off his career high before April is even done.

Brantley is speculating that might be why he's struggling. They're FORCING him to throw other pitches. I agree that he needs more than just the FB...but he's had an awful lot of success with mainly just that pitch thus far. If you can locate it with movement and deception...maybe you CAN just bring heat all the time.

Cingrani has been very good as a SP at a pretty young age. He'll have to adjust and improve. His command definitely seems to be lacking more than last year. Everyone will have ups and downs I wouldn't label him Manny Parra quite yet.

Interesting theory. I haven't necessarily paid attention to all of Cingrani's pitches. I try to follow on the Gamecast as I listen to the radio, but I usually just see 4 Seam FB, 4 Seam FB, 4 Seam FB. Seems logical, though.

I'd agree with this. Unless Cingrani is injured or something is really wrong, I say throw him out for the 5th, especially with the pitcher's spot up next, and if he gets 20+ pitches in, then you pull him.

Being down 2 doesn't really bother me with our team, especially against the Cubs, but that's what happens to a pitcher when they walk 2 of the first 3 batters of the inning.

Aside from a couple pitchers I think they are pretty good. When Chapman comes back at least one of them will be gone.

I donīt think cingrani was/is hurt.. he had a hard time getting the top of the order out, even if he got them out they hit the ball hard... he just didnīt have it

christiani was not bad so far this season and if price wants to go to the bullpen he doesnīt have much choice with simon in the rotation

Its' hard watching something so depleted. When Aroldis comes back, Christiani will be the one to go. When Latos comes back, Simon will be in the pen and we'll have a legitimate longman. We JUST got back Broxton and Marshall. That's 4 men out of an 7 man pen missing. How ANYBODY is surprised by it struggling is beyond me. When healthy, they're one of the best pen's in the NL. And they're getting healthy quickly.

Christiani was kept on the team because he can throw multiple innings. Probably would be better to use him in blowouts.

When Chapman comes back, I'm guessing Christiani or Hoover will go down. If it's Hoover, it will be for a shorter time.

I think Ondrusek will get to stay for awhile.

Ondrusek didn't do well last year, but 2010-12 was a pretty good relief pitcher. He does quite poorly on RedsZone.

It absolutely made sense. And you even supplied the reason. Cingrani was not good tonight. You are acting like Price pulled him in the 4th while he was throwing a no hitter. It obviously didn't work all that well but it was hardly the worst decision of all time and it could have been worse had Cingrani been left in.

He had an ankle surgery while recovering from his Tommy John. I can't imagine that killed all his speed though. I never thought he seemed all that fast anyway.

Marlins score 9 runs in back to back games against ATL pitching. Harang got bombed. Was not expecting them to pitch like 1968 Indians all year but it shows how inconsistent or boder line putrid this offense can be,
