Cingrani back Reds need to make a cut. Likely a position player.

Obviously not Soto. Could be Votto DL or Bernadina or Barnhart.

Currently one extra position player on roster. Three catchers.

Barnhart sent down. Good sign on Votto, stays on roster.

Price said Pena will start at first base in two of the three games against the Nationals, while starting one behind the plate, most likely Johnny Cueto's start on Tuesday.

"This is the opportunity to see what Neftali Soto can offer us," Price said. "For a guy who has had to sit on the bench the entire six weeks of the season with a couple of starts and pinch-hitting opportunities, this is what he's here to do -- hit left-handed pitching and get a couple of starts. ... Under different circumstances (Pena would) be playing first base (Saturday and Sunday), but we've got to see what Nefi can provide us against these left-handed starters."

There's a Billy play that wont show up in the numbers.

I posted this earlier and thought it was interesting...what with all the Choo vs. Billy arguments that seem to go on here.

Billy's OBP is under .300, and he's scored 18...now 19 runs and driven 6, while Choo is over .400, and has scored 20 and driven in 11.

Doesn't account for pinch running and FC times on base obviously, and runs scored is a team stat, but make of those numbers what you will.

Ya, probably fair to say that the batters behind Hamilton have been perfomred better with him on than Choo's teammates when he is on.

But you are right, a good chunk of that should be attributable to Hamilton. To what degree... hard to know? But there is something there for sure.

I keep getting warning messages on my laptop saying an HDD failure is imminent and I should backup my files immediately. I went to target and got an 8 gb jump drive for $13.00.

When these first came out wasn't it like $30 for 500 mb or something? Gotta love how quickly tech prices drop.
