I think Hamilton will be at his best if he gets regular rest. I think it is possible when he tires the bat slows a little and he starts popping balls up.

That's kinda pointless since we'll be up by 7 at that time.

Anything wrong with Billy?

From Sheldon's notes:

"We're going to be facing, for the first time in a while, a rather large cluster of left-handers this week, and that does give us an opportunity every now and again to spell Billy and to get Chris in there," Price said.

"And now that Jay [Bruce] is back, there's not going to be as much freedom with the lineup to be moving outfielders around and getting guys in there on a rotation as when Jay was out."

Marshall throwing at a speed and location where big leaguers hit about .900

Not velocity. He hit 89. He's never thrown much over 90 anyway. It's all location.

Ya. We're saying the same thing. You can't throw that speed at those locations.

I'm listening on radio and looking at Gameday so I'm just going by that. You probably know more than I.

When Latos comes back move Cingrani into Marshall's role. I think Cingrani would be great as a late inning reliever. Not sure I see him as a starter unless he can throw something other than a fastball.

I was against that.... but if Marshall can't get right I can change my mind.

If this isn't a Jocketty wake up call there won't be one.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

He won't do a damn thing. It almost took an act of congress to get a historically inept neftali soto out of here.

Pretty good stuff. I thought Kapler completely sucked until about five minutes ago.

Their attitude is "wait until we get healthy." They've now been waiting for, what, two and a half years?

meanwhile we fall farther and farther behind. not much chance of finding a way to salvage this season.

All is not well, but after this game it will be an 8-8 stretch. I think we've been the same amount "behind" for awhile.

I think Mez is now 0-14 hitting 4th. Some of that is bad luck and good defense but maybe his Mojo is better at 5.

Ludwick, Heisey, Ondrusek, Hoover, Bernadina, Marshall... it's names like these that will continue to ruin many a Saturday night. And any night ending in Y.

I think the pitch selection was just bad. He doesn't have Chapman's fastball and his breaking ball was working. Why go to an inferior pitch in a high leverage situation like that? To start an inning? Sure. But with runners in scoring position? I'm sure an argument can be made for it, but I think it's weak. Like I said before, Jay had just flailed at a breaking ball, why not give him a chance to get himself out?

Well... They didn't fold.... Gave Frazier a chance to tie it up. This loss is on Price using an obviously not right Marshall in a high leverage spot.

I'm going to go with this game is on the offense for leaving runners on 2nd and 3rd in back to back innings. I hope Lutz gets the start in LF tomorrow.

Ellis doesn't snare Mesoraco's line drive, and the Reds win tonight's game. Very hard fought, well played game on both sides. See you tomorrow.

1) I hate the Cardinals

2) If we win tomorrow, we take the series

Nothing is guaranteed except death, taxes and Heisey popping up on the first pitch.
