Your first sentence makes no sense. What am I missing?

I should have double-checked the source (NBC sports online "matchup") that I got all of those stats from. I certainly paused when I cut-and-pasted it, but I didn't think they would be wrong, as they seemed to be pretty in-depth in their other data (of which I re-posted the least in-depth data).

REDS are 14th out of 15 teams in runs per game at 3.46 http://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/NL/2014-standard-batting.shtml

In fact, I just checked the next stat...the walks per game, and they don't lead the league in that, either. They are closer to 9th.

It's too late to edit the first post, so now I know to not believe anything I see from nbc sports. I rarely have used the site to look at anything, so I had no experience with their reliability.

And, if I edit it, then your posts won't make sense, so I'll just leave it and let people go, "huh?".

You don't always start game threads. But when you do, you prefer blowing our minds with statistics.

I seriously would have bet the Reds were in the bottom 3 of the NL in runs per game, not top 3.

Now Mr. Welsh and a braying jackass prepare to describe the contest.

David Bailey, native of the Mexican Cessation, to hurl for the Red Stockings. Mr. Garza for the Brewers.

If Hamilton is going to bunt, he has to have more awareness of the infielders' positioning.

That wasn't a bad bunt, but the Brewers were right on it.

Eventually he has to figure out whether the bunt will work, not just proceed with it. Has to look over the defense.

Mr. Braun, late of Her Majesty's Prison at Wormwood Scrubs, happily takes his position. Mr. Braun largely built his legend upon certain unguents and potions obtained from the Barbary Pirates. The fathers of the game saw fit to punish him for this by giving him millions of dollars.

Mr. Brenneman jnr appears shocked that the addition of a healthy Mr. Votto, having cleared his diptheria at the heralded sanitorium of Battle Creek, Michigan, would yield a better Red Stockings lineup. Apparently, Mr. Brenneman jnr has divined, through sinewy use of his much-neglected abacus, that Mr. Votto's presence was worth a mere half-tally per contest for the locals. More on this later.

Mr. Phillips with a sacrifice fly to right center, 4-1 Red Stockings. And general rejoicing all round the Rhineland!
