I could be wrong, but can't an ump give a runner an extra base on a ground rule double, if he believes that he clearly would have reached that base if the ball had not gone over the wall?

Cozart OPS' is .582, his career OPS is .665. He is the very definition of a no-hit SS if we saying that .730 is Average and .700 is Below Average

Hamilton is getting better at what he does..... but Cozart? He is not getting better he is just not terrible. He is still bad. His approach never changes and yet he will continue to be a bad hitter, below average at best....with a 3-4 game and a few 2B thrown in maybe once a week or 2.

:bang:

Okay. It's in between innings now.

Billy can't be confined to the normal OPS numbers. Simply put he is a lightning bolt shaped peg that's trying to be shoved into a square hole. His singles don't equate to other players' singles. He started off the season horribly. He has since come around nicely. Is he an above average hitter or even an average hitter? Probably not. But he's not a "no-hit" guy either.

Cozart has shown through his career that he's got some decent pop for a SS. He will normally hit around .250'ish with some power. His OBP will always be low due to his low walk rate. But again, he started off this year in a horrific slump. He has since reverted back to his career norms. But due to the bad start, his overall numbers still look really bad thus far. I look at the progress. I don't just look at one number. OPS is not the end-all, be-all stat. Zack is also an average to below average bat...and again, that does NOT equate to a "no-hit" guy in my book either.

Better? Now I'll enjoy the game. If you wanna continue banging your head on a wall, be my guest. Just because I don't agree with the crowd, it doesn't mean I'm wrong.

And coupled with his WELL above average defense it makes him pretty much an average to above average SS in my book.

He has been BAD all year in situations that matter. He has gotten his ERA down in losing games.

He's an average bullpen arm. Quality stuff, mediocre results. But my point remains. WHO should Price have gone with? Parra & LeCure have been getting knocked around. Chapman & Broxton might be unavailable due to recent workload. Marshall gone. JJ, Logan & Tony remains. When did Cingrani pitch last? Is he ready to pitch in the pen yet?

It still blows my mind that at the beginning of the season only a very small handful of Redszoners saw the bullpen as a liability. Yes, the offense was glaring, but how did people not see that?

It also blows my mind that 90% of RedZoners had this as a 90 win team. This team is inherently flawed. And there's no fixing it in sight.

This team ain't winning the division. The bullpen and offense both suck. Sweeping Milwaukee was just too hard for this team. Just another sucky game in what has been a suckfest of a season.

Even if they win tomorrow, whoopity dew, they gain 1! whole game against Milwaukee. So instead of being 8 out they are 7 out. Of course, they will probably suck again tomorrow, and be 9 out by the end of Sunday.

Just when you think they might be turning a corner...

It still blows my mind that at the beginning of the season only a very small handful of Redszoners saw the bullpen as a liability. Yes, the offense was glaring, but how did people not see that?

most guys thought broxton would be worse than he has been this season
most guys thought marshall, hoover, parra would be better than they have been
most guys didnīt expect marshall, chapman and simon to miss a lot of time due to injuries...(to themself or others)
and most guys hoped that price would use the bullpen different.. more flexibility (chapman in high leverage situation, not only in the 9th), multiple innings saves, .... and some would think that they would call up guys who perform great in triple aaa and send down guys struggling at the big league lever

sadly most of it didnīt happen
