Yeah....yeah he should. We have 4 potential guys to play LF today and all 4 suck against an average pitcher.

Yeah....yeah he should. We have 4 potential guys to play LF today and all 4 suck against an average pitcher.

The most at bats any of them have against him is 12.

The most at bats any of them have against him is 12.

Thanks....I didn't know that even though I already posted it.

Obviously, the GM doesn't look randomly at numbers against a random average lefty when building his roster......so let's end that talk completely. I was simply looking to see who in the lineup had done well against Estrada and the first 4 Reds I saw had hit him very well. I was just showing who are top hitters were against him.....then showed that all LF options were terrible against him.

My point at the end was blaming Walt for our LF choices most every game.

Now.....we can all enjoy Luddy going 3-5 today with a hr and 3 RBI. You're welcome. Lol

For all the complaining about him, Ludwick has quietly dragged his OPS out of 'horrible' territory and into 'okay' territory.

For all the complaining about him, Ludwick has quietly dragged his OPS out of 'horrible' territory and into 'okay' territory.

Near the middle of May he was almost .750

I'd take .750 but with Bruce not being Bruce .800+ would be nice.

I do like that Luddy is a guy who will catch it if he can touch it. His range isn't good but his glove is solid.

Tony Cloninger
06-15-2014, 12:48 PM
The thing is that Ludwick is not really hitting for that much power. But sure he is hitting better.

I think Walt is just thinking....Luddy will do a 2012 here anytime soon. No need to look elsewhere. It's all coming together. Rubbing his hands like Mr. Burns.

Regarding Hamilton -- he shows how all the minor league analysis in the world doesn't tell you how a guy will actually do in the majors.

There are so many examples of players who turned out so differently than expected. Hamilton seems to have much more power than anyone suggested. It's true in many cases how guys turn out differently.

Baloney. Leake is a good pitcher. So he has a good defense behind him? A lot of great pitchers had great defenses behind them. There were a few Hall of Fame Braves' pitchers that had that. Good pitchers don't put up solid or above average numbers solely based on defense.
