Hamilton CF
Frazier 3B
Votto 1B
Mesoraco C
Phillips 2B
Bruce RF
Ludwick LF
Cozart SS
Leake P

I recall Leake pitching an awesome game in San Francisco back in 2012 (let us not speak of his final start of that year against the Giants in Cincy), hopefully that and his last start will buoy him to success tonight.

I guess expecting a day off to recover from the flight is too much to ask for in the age of selig. Good to see BP back. Schumaker stepped up nicely in the interim.

When you balance Phillips' status and expectations; splitting the lefties; going with the hot hand; Frazier's good performance in the two hole, a sore spot for this club --

Really a perfect lineup and batting order by Price for right now.

The Reds small samples against Vogelsong,

Hamilton: 3-3
Frazier: 3-7, 2 HR, 2 BB
Votto: 1-6, 3 BB
Mesoraco: 0-4, BB
Phillips: 8-16, 2 2B
Bruce: 5-15, 2B, HR
Ludwick: 4-7, 2 BB
Cozart: 0-9

If Schumaker is needed in place of BP, he is: 3-8.

He gets one into triples alley there, and he could run for days.

When a team travels to a distant outpost like Boston, located on the Isle of Avalon in Prester John's kingdom, one needs off-days on both ends.

Chicago to San Francisco - piece of cake.

What's a little strange is that this is the 2nd time this season they've had a night game preceding a trip out west. At the end of May, they played the Cardinals on a Sunday night, then flew to L.A. to play the Dodgers the next afternoon.

They lost both of those games, for what it's worth.

;) At least this isn't as bad as the Memorial day fiasco when they flew to LA overnight and had to play at 6PM EDT. On National TV!

Prefer to see Votto/Frazier 2/3.

Partly because of Votto seeing more pitches. I would think it's also easier for a catcher to throw to 2B with a RHH at the plate.

I want to beat these Giants senselessly into the ground beyond recognition all four games this series.

First, they have several players I don't like in general. Second, I want to punish their pathetic and classless fans in the worst kind of way for cheering Cueto's injury in 2012. The Giants could have the worst record in baseball for the next 300 years and I'd still think they got off easy.

300 years? There won't be sports then, only the running man

I work for DP&L and the Dayton metro area just got slammed in no time. We got a phone call in the control center saying "Hey guys, there's a little pop up storm coming that might have some wind with it". 20 minutes later we were knocked on our asses with 20,000 people out of power.

I expect that is always lurking around every turn. Leake has been a lightning rod since the day he was drafted, and the peripheral stuff seems to sometimes matter to people more than what happens on the field.

I expect that is always lurking around every turn. Leake has been a lightning rod since the day he was drafted, and the peripheral stuff seems to sometimes matter to people more than what happens on the field.I don't care if he won 24 games this year with a .93 ERA. His xFIP was 2.98 and he only K'd 6.5 per 9, on top of that his BABIP against was .195.

So let's not go crazy giving him credit for winning the Cy Young here. :D
